Celebrating Excellence in Vector-Borne Disease Research and Control.
There are Three awards for the outstanding contributions in the field of Vector Borne Diseases, one for work related to Environmental aspects, other one for clinical aspect and other on Molecular Biology.
“Vestergaard Frandsen Award” consisting of a cash award of Rs 200,000(two lakh) is to be given to active researchers who are nationals of any SAARC member country and have contributed significantly in the fields of understanding the mechanism of insecticide resistance, vector bionomics and control. The cost of travel and other expenses of the recipient and the medallion will be borne by Vestergaard Frandsen.
"Bayer Environmental Science" has initiated the above award consisting of Rs 100,000 (one lakh) in cash to be given to a well established scientist having working experience in India and who has made an outstanding contribution in any field of vector borne diseases preferably in the vector/disease management aspect. In exceptional cases, Indian nationals working abroad or foreign scientists may also be considered for the award provided their work has made significant contribution in the understanding and control of vector borne disease in India. The award is open in all fields of science related to vectors and vector borne diseases. The cost of travel and other expenses of the recipient and medallion will be borne by the Bayer Environmental Science.
This award bears of Rs 100,000 (One lakh) in cash sponsored by Biotech International Ltd and is to be given to a scientist having working experience in India and must have made outstanding contribution in any field of vector borne diseases preferably in the vector/disease management aspect.
M/S Godrej Saralee has declared an award named Godrej Saralee Award for 2009, which is to be presented during annual X International/National Symposium organized by the Academy for excellence in research on personal protection from Mosquitoes. The Award includes a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh and a citation.
